Yo-Zuri Pin's Minnow

The Yo-Zuri Pin's Minnow is a lure that has truly made light game history, even when it wasn't yet called by that name.

True, this light casting minnow has been around for a while, but it has never gone out of fashion, and for a few very specific reasons. It casts well despite the very low weight, the reason being the weight transfer system pioneered by Yo-Zuri. It swims very well, with a tight, nervous tailing that allows it to tackle current areas, such as a trout stream or a bream-lined skimmer, and its slender, streamlined shape is reminiscent of most small prey fish of freshwater or saltwater carnivores.

The Yo-Zuri Pin's Minnow sinking model moves between fifty and ninety centimetres deep, these measurements, as you know, are quite relative because by changing the thickness of the braid or the leader we've already messed up and it will go down more or less. To be punctilious I would say that the 50mm model is really a minnow for ultra light game, practically a tool to cast with Ajing rods up to 3/5 grams while the 70mm model can be used with a light game rod, let's say up to 7/10 grams.

In fresh water it has enormous potential as a minnow for trout, as it can be shot with great precision and we can play with it by placing it in every corner where we think a trout might hide and manoeuvre it downstream if necessary, as with the right retrieve speed it remains stable even with a current in the tail. In the sea it's a great fish for mackerel and horse mackerel, especially when we're busy with ajing gear, or if we're looking for something more powerful, I doubt a bream will dislike it, quite the opposite.

The Yo-Zuri Pin's Minnow is a little gem that not only works well but ia also inexpensive, which is not a small detail. Remember that to get the best out of it you have to fish with ultralight and lightweight equipment, otherwise it won't work as well as it can.
